StaffCop FAQ: questions about monitoring
Below is a list of typycal questions about StaffCop monitoring features. If you can not find an answer here, feel free to contact us.
- Is a user who is being tracked able to stop StaffCop agent?
StaffCop agent runs as a Windows process. If a user is not logged in as a administrator (which is normal in a properly configured network) then he can not stop Windows process and get rid of agent.
- Should firewall be configured appropriately in order to allow agents to work?
Please open TCP port #1091 in your firewall settings. This port is used for the purpose of information exchange between the agents and administrative module.
- How to install StaffCop agents to all computers in our network?
The window of remote installation is accessed through the menu item File => Agent installation. Installation process will take a few minutes only regardless the number of computers within the network. If you have any problems with the automatic installation of agents you may install them manually. See more info here.
- Why some antiviruses detect the program as spyware? How to get rid of that message?
It is true that some antiviruses detect StaffCop as spyware and block it. Formally, StaffCop is a spy program and undergoes some formal criteria of a spyware because it collects data on computer usage. In fact Staffcop is not a spyware, it does not transfer any information to the third parties using internet and is used for authorized purposes. Sometimes it is not possible to completely solve the problem with some antiviruses. If you run into such an issue the change antivirus settings or install a new one.
