StaffCop FAQ – Internet activity monitoring software

  • Can a computer user who is being monitored uninstall or suspend StaffCop user module?

    StaffCop user module runs as a Windows process. Only users with privileges of an administrator can have access to Windows processes.


  • How to configure a firewall?

    It is required to have TCP port #1091 open on the firewall in order to operate StaffCop. This port is used for the purpose of information exchange between user and administrative modules.

  • How to deploy StaffCop user modules on the network?

    You can access the window of remote installation through the menu item File => Agent installation. The installation process will take only a few minutes regardless the number of computers on the network. If you have any issues with the automatic user module installation you can install them manually. See more info here.


  • Why some antiviruses detect StaffCop as a spyware? How to resolve this issue?

    Some antiviruses may detect StaffCop as spyware and block it. StaffCop is NOT a spy program even though it collects some formal data from a computer but it does not transfer any information to the third parties using the Internet. If you have any issues with antivirus program, please contact our support department.

  • Issues with remote installation on Windows 95/98

    Remote installation for computers running Windows 95/98 is not supported due to technical limitations of these operating systems. We suggest manual installation or contacting our technical support.
