Keylogger

What it is:

Keylogger is the name of a class of software used to log all keystrokes. It is often used for spying purposes if you enable the stealth mode for the application, but still a keylogger can be used for a lot of legal purposes. For example, restoring typed text after failures and errors, in case of incorrectly created passwords and so on.

What it is for:

You can see the following things in this type of report:

• All keys employees press. You can use it to evaluate how busy employees are with their jobs
• How frequently windows are switched (partially correlates with с Workday)
• Frequently pressed key combinations in order to optimize the work of the department on the whole
• Restore typed text after a failure or after you accidentally close the application window

How it is implemented in StaffCop:

StaffCop allows you to view both workday keystroke reports and real-time statistics for the last few hours in a convenient way.

To view real-time statistics, you should open the necessary agent and select the "Keyboard" tab. It shows all keys pressed in the corresponding window in the chronological order. To refresh information on the tab, press F5 or select the corresponding item in the context menu.

To view a report for a certain period, you should build it in the "Report Wizard". You can find keyboard reports on the "Keyboard" tab.
