Some antivirus products wrongly detect StaffCop as spyware and attempt to block or delete it. In case you face this problem, you have to change your antivirus settings to avoid checking StaffCop.
StaffCop is a monitoring program gathering data about computer usage. StaffCop bears some formal characteristics of spyware since technologies used in the program have something in common with those used in spyware. However, StaffCop is NOT spyware.
Why isn't StaffCop spyware? The essential difference between spyware and StaffCop is their purpose. Harmful spyware collects confidential data about users’ PCs without them being aware of it and transfers that data to third parties. StaffCop monitors user activities for good and solicited purposes only. Data collected by StaffCop will not leave the premises of your company. Moreover, StaffCop does not collect confidential data like passwords or credit card numbers. StaffCop serves the purpose of information security while spyware programs are used to bypass security.
